I know this is a little late but I saw this article in the newspaper from the remembrance weekend and just love it!
The article shows 6 rescue dogs that were deployed to help the emergency services following the attacks on the World Trade Center. A decade on the dutch photographer Charlotte Durnas travelled across the USA to track down the 12 dogs remaining out of the 100 originally deployed. They still live with their handlers but are elderley now.
I just love the photos of these dogs, they look old now but you can imagine them in their prime working with the emergency services and saving lives, it was such a lovely article to stumble across over the remembrance weekend...
